Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
All submissions must meet the following requirements:
- The submission complies with the formatting, preparation, and file requirements specified in the Author Guidelines.
- The manuscript has not been previously published and is not under simultaneous consideration by another journal.
- All authors have made scholarly contributions to the work, reviewed the final version, and approved its submission to the journal.
- The Title Page and Anonymous Main Manuscript have been prepared and uploaded as separate files.
- The anonymous manuscript contains no author names, affiliations, ORCID identifiers, email addresses, acknowledgements, or other information that may directly or indirectly reveal author identity.
- Turkish and English titles, abstracts, and keywords have been prepared completely.
- In-text citations and references comply with APA 7, and all references have been checked for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- All tables, figures, and visual materials are appropriately numbered, titled, and cited in the manuscript.
- All necessary permissions have been obtained for tables, figures, scales, photographs, datasets, or other materials reproduced or adapted from external sources.
- Where required by the nature of the research, ethics committee approval and other necessary research permissions have been obtained and appropriately declared.
- Where human participants are involved, all required informed consent procedures have been completed.
- Required statements concerning conflicts of interest, funding/support, author contributions, and data availability have been prepared.
- If the manuscript is derived from a thesis, research project, or conference presentation, this has been clearly disclosed.
- All information, files, and declarations submitted to the journal are accurate and complete.
Research Articles
The Journal of Child and Youth Psychology considers original quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method research addressing psychological processes across childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood in this section. Submissions must comply with the journal’s aims and scope, ethical principles, and author guidelines. Manuscripts considered suitable for review are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers through a double-blind peer-review process.
Review Articles
The Journal of Child and Youth Psychology considers systematic, comprehensive, and critical review articles addressing psychological processes across childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood in this section. Reviews are expected to synthesize the current literature in a coherent manner, contribute meaningfully to the field, and present a clear methodological approach. Manuscripts considered suitable for review are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers through a double-blind peer-review process.

Authors retain the copyright to works submitted to the Journal of Child and Youth Psychology.
Upon acceptance, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive right of first publication and authorize the journal to make the published version openly available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
Under the CC BY 4.0 license, published content may be shared, reproduced, distributed, and adapted, provided that appropriate credit is given to the author(s) and the original publication, the applicable license is identified, and any changes made to the original work are clearly indicated.
By submitting a manuscript, the submitting author confirms, on behalf of all authors, that:
- the work is original,
- the authors hold the rights necessary for publication,
- all required permissions have been obtained for any copyrighted third-party material,
- all authors have reviewed and approved the final version submitted to the journal,
- all authors agree to publication in accordance with the journal’s copyright and open-access policies.
Authors may share their published work on personal websites, institutional repositories, or other academic platforms. Such sharing should include appropriate attribution to the version published in the Journal of Child and Youth Psychology.
Privacy Statement
The Journal of Child and Youth Psychology respects the privacy and security of users' personal information.
Personal information entered into the journal's online submission and editorial management system, including names, e-mail addresses, institutional affiliations, ORCID identifiers, and similar information, is used solely for the editorial, peer-review, publishing, and scholarly communication activities of the journal.
Such information is not disclosed to third parties or used for commercial purposes unless disclosure is required by law or is necessary for the proper administration of the publication process.
Personal information required for editorial operations may be accessed only by authorized editors, individuals involved in the publication process, and system administrators where technically necessary.
Information used during peer review is kept confidential in accordance with the journal's double-blind peer-review policy.
Published Author Information
When an article is published, author names, institutional affiliations, ORCID identifiers, corresponding author information, and bibliographic metadata may become publicly available as part of the scholarly publishing and academic discovery process.
Use and Retention of Data
Information stored in the system may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to manage submissions, conduct peer review, maintain editorial correspondence, preserve the scholarly record, produce statistical reports, and support the journal's publishing activities.
The journal aims to process personal information only for the purposes described above and in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.
